Oban Star-Racers premiered back in 2006 on ABC Family’s Jetix block, and took place in the far-off year of 2082. Now, Oban Star-Racers is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a very special Kickstarter project – the release of the entire series on Blu-Ray!
Riding Bean tells the story of the eponymous Bean Bandit, a getaway driver for hire who relies on his wits and his Buff Roadster car to get in and out of tight situations. Many years have passed and the series has been lost to time, either by being out of print on DVD or relegated to obscurity, but all that changed thanks to Kickstarter. Kenichi Sonoda opted to go into the Kickstarting business directly and is raising money to revitalize the series…
Many people today love anime, just as I do. We watch it on Crunchyroll, Adult Swim’s Toonami, or we buy the DVDs and Blu-Rays and enjoy our favorite series. But the cost of creating anime is vast, and many companies have actually taken fandom a step further, by asking fans to contribute to new projects on Kickstarter. With my analysis of these three projects: Little Witch Academia 2, Under The Dog, and NEKOPARA , is Kickstarting anime a good decision?
To answer that question, I think we should take a closer look at the anime I backed.
